The SpringMath Story

Amanda VanderHeyden speaking on video

Why was SpringMath built? Dr. VanDerHeyden spent her career in real schools, building and testing what became key parts of RTI and MTSS. When she trained teachers to do the work themselves, every step left room for error. The hardest part was knowing what to do next. In the middle of one training, she realized software could hand teachers what they need, apply the decision rules automatically and tell them the next step. Her first version, Intervention Advisor, proved the idea.

SpringMath was built in 2015 and started in one school in fall 2016. Today it’s used across the United States.
