Progress monitoring is built into the weekly routine. At the end of each week, the system identifies who responded and who didn't and generates the following week's materials accordingly. Where traditional progress monitoring takes 6–8 weeks to prompt an adjustment, SpringMath can make up to 7 updates, moving students to mastery faster.
When more than half the class is missing a skill, structured classwide intervention addresses it during regular instructional time. Scripted lessons and paper-based practice materials are generated weekly, automatically updated based on the latest data.

Getting Started
SpringMath is a K–12 math MTSS program that gives teachers a complete, data-driven system for screening, classwide intervention, progress monitoring, and individualized support — all in 15 minutes a day. After a brief universal screening identifies where students stand, the program automatically generates scripted lessons, paper-based practice materials, and targeted intervention routines every week, updated based on how students are actually progressing.
SpringMath does not replace a school's core math curriculum; it supplements it. Teachers continue following the scope and sequence of their existing math program. SpringMath identifies classwide foundational learning gaps and provides the structured lessons and practice to help students keep up with grade-level core curriculum. It's designed to work alongside any K–12 math curriculum.
SpringMath covers grades K–12, with assessments and intervention content aligned to grade-level math standards at every level.
SpringMath requires 15 minutes per day for classwide intervention. Students identified as needing additional support receive an extra 15 minutes of targeted individual or small-group practice. Universal screening takes approximately 15 minutes and occurs three times per year. Because progress monitoring is built into the weekly intervention routine, no separate assessment time is needed.
SpringMath is designed to be accessible for schools at every stage of MTSS implementation, including those just getting started. The program provides the structure, tools, and professional learning support to build a high-impact math MTSS system, not just the software to run one. Implementation support and ongoing professional learning ensure new users have everything they need from day one.
The Program
SpringMath is the only supplemental math program that addresses the full K–12 MTSS cycle, starting at the Tier 1 classwide level, not just with Tier 2 or Tier 3 students in isolation. Classwide intervention serves as a built-in second screening gate, helping distinguish students who need intensive support from those who simply need consistent, targeted practice. Because the program updates instruction every week based on real data, it adjusts far more frequently than intervention programs built around 6–8 week assessment cycles.
Classwide math intervention is structured, teacher-led practice delivered to the whole class when the majority of students are missing a foundational skill. Rather than pulling out individual students, it addresses the gap at the source. SpringMath supports teachers in delivering classwide intervention in 15 minutes per day using scripted lessons and paper-based practice materials. Research shows that SpringMath classwide intervention significantly reduces the number of students who need more intensive Tier 2 or Tier 3 support.
SpringMath uses paper-based student materials because research, including studies by Dr. Amanda VanDerHeyden and Dr. Paul Muyskens, shows that paper-and-pencil practice builds math fluency more effectively than screen-based practice for most students, most of the time. Writing activates different cognitive processes than tapping a screen, and structured paper practice paired with peer learning is how fluency gets built and retained.
Progress monitoring in SpringMath is embedded directly into the weekly intervention routine; no separate assessments are needed.
